It marked TVK’s formal entry into full-fledged election mode ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls. Party leaders said the symbol represents a call to “wake up the masses” and challenge established political forces in the state.
Earlier in the day, Vijay struck a defiant political tone, declaring that neither the DMK nor the AIADMK represents real leadership in Tamil Nadu.
Addressing party functionaries, he said TVK would not bow to pressure and would chart its own course in the upcoming elections. He also indicated that his party would not join any political alliance, dismissing speculation of a possible tie-up with the AIADMK.
Senior TVK leader K.A. Sengottaiyan hailed Vijay as the future of Tamil Nadu politics, asserting that people had already decided to back him in the next Assembly election. He said the whistle symbol would serve as a tool to mobilise voters without the money and power used by rival parties.
The closed-door consultation in Mamallapuram brought together around 3,000 state and district-level functionaries to discuss election preparedness, organisational strengthening, and campaign strategy. Entry was restricted through digital identity cards and QR-code verification, underlining the party’s emphasis on disciplined mobilisation.
