Muslim locals welcome Kanwariyas in Amroha; devotee wears Modi mask in Kanwar Yatra show of support.

In a powerful gesture of unity and communal harmony, Muslim residents of Bacchraon in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district welcomed Kanwar Yatra pilgrims by showering flower petals and offering fruits. Locals lined the streets as saffron-clad devotees passed through, highlighting the spirit of coexistence.
Mohammad Shah Namaz, who took part in the gesture, told ANI, “This is a message for the unity of our country and all our Kanwar brothers ... India is a country that identifies unity in diversity. Our country celebrates all festivals, be it Eid or Shivratri... this will send a message to the world that we are a country believing in love.”
A video of the flower petal showering was shared by ANI on social media.
Modi mask Kanwariya becomes talking point
On the Yatra route, a Kanwar Yatri named Pranay Sharma drew attention for donning a mask of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking to ANI, he said, “I haven't faced any problem yet. Everything is good here. We will arrive at our destination tomorrow. I am wearing this PM Modi mask because we need the prime minister, like Narendra Modi.”
ANI shared a video of the devotee with the Modi mask.
Authorities ensure smooth passage across UP
Pilgrims have largely expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made along the Kanwar Yatra route. In Ghaziabad, a devotee told ANI, “The arrangement is satisfactory. Everyone is arriving with ease. There are no traffic issues here.”
Sunil Sharma, travelling to Greater Noida, added, “The arrangements are very good; there is no traffic... We felt good after coming to UP, as the arrangements done by the government are good.”
In Hapur district, route diversions have been implemented on the Meerut–Agra highway to keep large vehicles off the path. Police have been stationed to manage the flow and ensure safety.
Muzaffarnagar officer’s helping hand
In Muzaffarnagar, Circle Officer Rishika Singh went beyond her official duties to massage tired pilgrims’ feet and hands, while also ensuring special provisions for women and medical aid.
“Our police, especially the Muzaffarnagar police, our administration, and our officials are always on the ground... We have made all necessary arrangements for contingencies, and drills are being conducted to prepare for unexpected events,” she told reporters.
