This Diwali, social media has been bursting at the seams with videos of lavish corporate gifts, from trolley bags and silver bars to air fryers and luxury hampers. But just as Instagram feeds were beginning to settle, one viral reel sent the internet into overdrive: a Diwali gift not in a box, but parked in a showroom.

M.K. Bhatia, a social worker and entrepreneur, has once again gone above and beyond by gifting 51 brand-new luxury cars to his team members and celebrity associates. The extraordinary gesture, which marks the third consecutive year of his annual Diwali car giveaway, has quickly become one of the most talked-about moments of the festive season.

What followed the key handovers was a specially organised “Car Gift Rally” that saw all 51 vehicles drive in convoy from the showroom to Mits House, Bhatia’s office headquarters.

Instagram reels of the event show team members, some in disbelief, others smiling wide, receiving their cars amid applause and cheers.

Speaking to the media, Bhatia offered a humble explanation behind the jaw-dropping gesture.

"My associates are the backbone of my pharmaceutical companies. Their hard work, honesty, and dedication are the foundation of our success. Recognising their efforts and motivating them is my only goal -- to keep them inspired and driven toward greater heights,” he said.

Bhatia also called this year’s figure, 51 cars, his “half-century”, a personal milestone in employee gifting.

Bhatia’s gift may be the season’s most spectacular, but it’s part of a broader trend of companies turning up the heat on Diwali gifting.

Last week, sanitaryware company Kohler went viral after employees shared unboxing reels of Diwali hampers containing 20-gram silver bars, air fryers, coffee machines, artisanal skincare, and more. Before that, tech firm Info Edge took the internet by storm by gifting trolley bags.

Social media platforms, especially Instagram and LinkedIn, have been buzzing with praise — and just a little jealousy.

“Can someone tell me how to apply to this company ASAP?” one user commented.

“My company gave me a chocolate box. I’m crying in the corner,” another quipped.
