The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which manages the famed Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple, has received a total of Rs 918.6 crore in donations over the past 11 months, marking a steady increase in contributions from devotees.

According to TTD chairman B R Naidu, the donations were made to several charitable trusts under the temple board through both online and offline channels. “Of the total amount received, Rs 579.38 crore came through online donations, while Rs 339.20 crore was contributed offline,” Naidu said.

Among the various trusts, the Sri Venkateshwara (SV) Annadanam Trust received the highest amount of nearly Rs 339 crore, followed by Rs 252 crore to the Srivani Trust and about Rs 98 crore to the Sri Balaji Aarogya Varaprasadini Scheme. The SV Pranadana Trust collected almost Rs 67 crore, the SV Gosamrakshana Trust received over Rs 56 crore, and the SV Vidyadanam Trust garnered Rs 33.47 crore.

Other beneficiaries included the Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled (BIRRD) Trust with around Rs 30 crore, the SV Sarvashreyas Trust with Rs 20.46 crore, and the SV Veda Parirakshana Trust with Rs 13.87 crore. Smaller contributions included Rs 6.29 crore to the Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel (SVBC) and Rs 1.52 crore to the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS).

Naidu said more devotees are preferring the online route for their contributions and are also extending support towards construction projects, machinery procurement, and technology development at the temple body. He instructed officials to ensure that donors receive proper respect and facilities in recognition of their contributions.

TTD operates multiple trusts to support its wide range of charitable activities, including free meals for pilgrims, educational and healthcare initiatives, and the preservation of Vedic learning. The Tirumala temple remains one of the world’s richest and most visited Hindu shrines, drawing nearly three crore pilgrims annually.

The TTD’s donation inflow highlights growing trust among devotees and digital participation in religious philanthropy. With over Rs 579 crore coming via online channels, the trend signals a strong shift towards digital giving among temple patrons globally.

The Sri Venkateshwara Annadanam Trust, known for feeding lakhs of pilgrims daily, continues to attract the largest share of donations. The Srivani Trust, which funds infrastructure and temple development, ranked second, while health and welfare-related trusts such as Aarogya Varaprasadini and Pranadana also saw robust contributions.

Officials said that the TTD plans to enhance transparency and accountability in fund utilisation. They have also introduced new donor recognition systems, including special darshan facilities and certificates, to honour benefactors.
