In a tragic mishap near Jalgaon, two teens sitting on railway tracks with headphones on were run over by a speeding train.

Maharashtra: Two teenagers wearing headphones were fatally struck by the Ahmedabad–Howrah Express near Paldhi village in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district on Sunday, acoording to media reports.
Police identified the victims as Prashant Khairnar and Harshavardhan Nannavare, aged 16 and 17, residents of Mahatma Phule Nagar. The incident occurred around 11 am, officers said.
According to police, the loco pilot of the train, which was travelling from Dharangaon to Jalgaon, spotted the boys sitting on the tracks near the Chandsar railway gate but was unable to stop in time.
A report submitted by the pilot to the Paldhi railway station master stated that the teenagers appeared not to hear repeated warnings from the train’s horn due to their headphones.
Police have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating. Both boys came from lower-middle-class families, and their homes were located just 300 metres from the railway line, officers added.
