Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Friday launched a new public outreach initiative titled 'Tell Us Your Dream'(Ungal Kanavu Sollunga) to collect people’s aspirations and development expectations for the state, particularly focusing on youth and rural households.

Launching the programme at Padianallur in Ponneri taluk of Tiruvallur district, Stalin said governance must serve as a tool to fulfil the hopes of citizens, not just the goals of the leadership.

“Families prosper and become happy only when their dreams are heard and fulfilled. And when your dreams are fulfilled, then Tamil Nadu will also progress and develop,” he said, emphasising that history has repeatedly shown that dreams can become reality through determination and hard work.

Stalin recalled that his government fulfilled 404 out of the 505 promises made ahead of the 2021 Assembly elections, despite what he described as a lack of financial support from the Union government.

As part of the initiative, more than 50,000 volunteers will visit nearly 1.91 crore households across Tamil Nadu to collect public inputs for shaping a comprehensive development roadmap. During the launch event, the Chief Minister interacted directly with residents and also spoke via video call with a sanitary worker from Tirunelveli to understand her aspirations.

In a post on social media platform X, Stalin said true democracy lies in listening to people’s needs and turning them into actionable plans. “Fulfilling this is the essence of the Dravidian model. Share your dreams with our team, who will be visiting your homes as part of the 'Tell us your dream' initiative. I will strive to make them a reality by 2030,” he assured.
