
Andhra Pradesh: A hidden camera was discovered in the girls’ hostel washroom at SR Gudlavalleru Engineering College in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday evening.
According to reports, the camera allegedly recorded visuals in secret, and over 300 photos and videos from the women's hostel washroom were leaked and sold.
The hidden camera was found by a group of female students on Thursday evening, leading to immediate panic and distress. Female students at the hostel launched massive protests, chanting “We want justice” and demanding answers and accountability from the authorities. They also called for stricter measures to ensure their safety on campus.
In connection with the incident, the police have arrested Vijay Kumar, a final-year BTech student from the boys' hostel. His laptop has been confiscated, and an investigation is ongoing.
The police are conducting further investigations to determine if other students were involved in setting up the camera and distributing the videos.
