A 12-acre rainforest attraction near Gujarat’s Statue of Unity features 20 artificial rain-gun towers, waterfalls, bubble fountains and a circular glass skywalk. The ₹12-crore project is designed to offer visitors a rainforest experience throughout the year.

Ekta Nagar: A 12-acre rainforest attraction featuring artificial rain, waterfalls and a circular glass skywalk has opened for tourists near Gujarat’s Statue of Unity, according to one report. The ₹12-crore project at Ekta Nagar is designed to recreate a rainforest atmosphere throughout the year. Another report says the attraction was nearing completion ahead of a proposed inauguration on October 31, 2026; the official opening status and date require confirmation.
Tourists visiting the Statue of Unity in Gujarat’s Ekta Nagar will have a new attraction featuring artificial rainfall, lush greenery and an elevated glass walkway. Spread across 12 acres, the Rain Forest project has reportedly been developed at a cost of ₹12 crore.
The attraction aims to recreate the atmosphere of a rainforest throughout the year, allowing visitors to experience artificial rain even outside the monsoon season. It forms part of the wider tourism infrastructure around the Statue of Unity, located in Narmada district.
The project includes 20 rain-gun towers designed to generate artificial rainfall. Water features such as waterfalls and bubble fountains, along with trees representing different states of India, are intended to create a green, immersive environment.
According to project details reported by local media, the temperature inside the attraction is intended to remain between 25°C and 30°C, providing visitors with a forest-like setting during warmer months.
Glass skywalk is a key attraction
One of the main features is a circular glass skywalk built around an elevated tower. The structure is reportedly 11 metres above ground level and has a diameter of 22 metres.
The walkway uses 132 curved glass panels, each 35 mm thick. Reports differ on the glass's country of origin: one identifies it as Korean glass, while another says it was imported from Germany. This detail requires independent confirmation.
The panels were reportedly cut and shaped in Ahmedabad before being transported to the site. Specialised cranes were used to lift and position the heavy glass sections.
The elevated walkway is designed to give visitors a view of the rainforest landscape below while walking across the transparent surface. Project promoters have described it as a first-of-its-kind attraction, although claims that it is the first of its kind globally have not been independently verified.
Where is the Rain Forest project located?
The attraction is in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat’s Narmada district, near the New Gora Bridge and Coconut Tree Garden. One report places it around five kilometres from the Statue of Unity.
The Statue of Unity, dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, is a major tourist destination in Gujarat. The new attraction is intended to complement the existing visitor experiences in the area and encourage tourists to explore more of Ekta Nagar.
When will the attraction be inaugurated?
One report said the Rain Forest project was nearing completion and was likely to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31, 2026. However, the proposed inauguration date remains subject to official confirmation.
Another report described the attraction as having opened to tourists. The conflicting accounts mean the current opening status should be confirmed through an official announcement before publication.
The Rain Forest project adds an artificial nature experience to the attractions surrounding the Statue of Unity. Its combination of simulated rainfall, landscaped greenery, water features and a glass skywalk is intended to appeal to families and visitors looking for activities beyond the statue itself.
The attraction may also encourage tourists to spend more time in Ekta Nagar, supporting the area's broader tourism ecosystem. Its longer-term appeal will depend on visitor response, accessibility, operating arrangements and how well the artificial rainforest environment is maintained.
