New Delhi: Former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain was produced before a court on Wednesday after being arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) in an alleged corruption case linked to the tendering of sewage treatment plant projects. The agency has sought judicial custody of Jain.

Jain is among six people arrested in connection with alleged irregularities in the tendering process for the augmentation and upgradation of sewage treatment plants under the Delhi Jal Board (DJB).

The ACB has also arrested former DJB CEO and IAS officer Udit Prakash Rai in the case.

The other accused are Ankit Srivastava, a former contractual consultant with the DJB, and three private individuals — Nagendra Yadav, Raja Kumar Kurra and Pankaj Verma.

The ACB confirmed the arrests on Tuesday and said the case relates to alleged corruption and irregularities in the awarding of contracts for sewage treatment plant projects.

The agency named all six accused in its statement, including Jain, a senior Aam Aadmi Party leader.
