New Delhi: Comedian Samay Raina on Wednesday announced that he has removed all episodes of 'India's Got Latent' from his YouTube channel following the controversy surrounding influencer Ranveer Allahbadia's remarks on the comedy show.

In his first response since the controversy erupted earlier this week, Raina stated that he will fully cooperate with all investigating agencies in their probe.

"Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all 'India's Got Latent' videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you," Raina (27), posted on X.

Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks spark controversy

The controversy began when Allahbadia (31), made comments regarding parents and sex during an episode of 'India's Got Latent.' The remarks quickly went viral on social media on Monday, leading to widespread criticism and multiple police complaints in Mumbai and Guwahati.

Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, has since apologised for what he described as a 'lapse in judgment.' However, the backlash has continued, with authorities launching investigations into the matter.

Legal action

The Maharashtra Cyber Department on Tuesday registered an FIR against the show and has summoned more than 40 individuals, including Allahbadia and Raina, for questioning. They have been asked to join the probe to provide their statements regarding the incident.

Additionally, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned Allahbadia, Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, Jaspreet Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani, along with the show's producers Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra. They have been directed to appear before the commission on February 17 in New Delhi.

Parliamentary discussion on social media regulations

The controversy has also reached the political sphere, with Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske raising the issue in Parliament. He has called for the implementation of a law to regulate social media content and ensure responsible online discourse.
