Salal Dam gates in Reasi have been opened for flushing after rising water inflow. Chenab water levels have increased, prompting a safety warning.

Reasi: Multiple spillway gates of the Salal Dam in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district have been opened after continuous rainfall in the upper catchment areas led to a rise in water inflow into the reservoir.
All gates of the dam have been opened for flushing purposes, causing the water level of the Chenab River to rise. The development has prompted a safety advisory for people living near or visiting the river.
People have been urged to stay away from the Chenab River and avoid going near the riverbank as a precautionary measure.
The opening of the dam gates has also led to dramatic visuals as water is released from the reservoir into the river.
With rainfall continuing in the upper catchment areas, authorities have advised people to exercise caution and maintain a safe distance from the Chenab River.
