New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday evening issued a red alert for Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), cautioning residents of severe weather conditions expected to hit the area late at night.
According to the IMD, winds ranging between 60 and 100 kmph are likely to lash the region between 10:30 pm and 12:30 am. The alert also includes a forecast of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by intense thunderstorm activity, lightning, dust storms, and possible hailstorms.
A red alert, the highest level of weather warning, signifies a call for maximum vigilance.
