Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has levelled serious allegations against Chief Election Commissione

Speaking to the media, he claimed he had “absolute solid proof” that the CEC was "shielding people who are stealing votes."

Example 1: The Case of Godabai

In one instance, a woman named Godabai had 12 voters deleted under her name — without her knowledge. According to Rahul Gandhi, someone created fake login credentials, used mobile numbers from outside Karnataka, and attempted mass deletions.

“Godabai has no idea. These numbers used to delete voters aren’t even from Karnataka. So who are these people? Where are they operating from?” he asked.

Example 2: Evidence of a Centralised Operation

Rahul said this wasn’t random — serial numbers on voter lists suggest automation.

For example, serial number 1 on the voter roll (the first person listed at a booth) was repeatedly used as the applicant for deletions — a pattern only possible, he argues, through software.

“A centralised script was used to pick names and file deletions. This is not worker-level fraud. This is being done at a call-centre level, at scale, using digital tools,” he alleged.

Example 3: The Speed Test – Nagaraj’s Case

In another case, a person named Nagaraj managed to submit two deletion applications within 36 seconds.

“Try doing this yourself. I ask the youth of India — open the form and try filling two forms in 36 seconds. It’s impossible manually,” Gandhi challenged.

He also pointed to the suspicious timing: the forms were submitted at 4:07 AM, raising further questions about automation and intent.

Rahul Gandhi has issued a formal demand that the Election Commission release all requested evidence to the Karnataka CID within a week.
