Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to campaign in Tamil Nadu within days after the party confirmed that its differences with DMK have been resolved ahead of the Assembly elections.

Chennai: The Congress has announced that its differences with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) have been resolved, clearing the way for joint campaign efforts in Tamil Nadu.
The development comes just days before the election campaign period concludes.
Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is expected to arrive in Tamil Nadu within the next three days to participate in campaign rallies. His absence from earlier phases of the campaign had drawn attention, given the Congress’ alliance with the DMK.
The DMK leadership had requested both Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi to join the campaign. Party leaders believe their participation will strengthen the alliance’s outreach and boost electoral prospects across constituencies.
Congress aims to maximise performance in 28 seats
The Congress is contesting 28 seats in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly. Party leaders are focusing on securing victories in all constituencies they are contesting, with intensified campaign efforts in the final days.
A meeting of the Tamil Nadu Congress State Committee was held to assess campaign progress and coordinate final-phase strategies. The meeting was attended by senior leaders, including Mukul Wasnik and Girish Raya Chodankar, who is in charge of party affairs in the state.
Tamil Nadu Congress President Selva Perundhugai chaired the meeting, emphasising the need for coordinated efforts with alliance partners. Leaders expressed confidence that the participation of national figures would energise workers and improve voter outreach.
With only nine days remaining before campaigning ends, both Congress and DMK are intensifying their efforts. The focus remains on consolidating support, resolving internal issues, and presenting a united front ahead of polling.
