Damoh: Police have requested permission to conduct a polygraph test on alleged fake cardiologist Narendra Yadav, also known as Narendra John Camm, after fake documents were recovered from his flat in Prayagraj, an official said on Saturday.
Superintendent of Police Shrut Kirti Somwanshi stated that Yadav had changed his name following the registration of a First Information Report against him in Noida in 2013. He was arrested on Monday from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh on charges of forgery and other offences after authorities began investigating the deaths of seven patients at a missionary hospital in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh.
No contact with family since 1999
According to the SP, Yadav’s father and brother, who reside in Kanpur, told a police team from Damoh that he had lived with them from 1996 to 1999 but had not maintained contact since then. School records from Kanpur confirmed his name as Narendra Yadav.
“He changed his name after an FIR was filed against him in Noida in 2013,” the official said.
The Damoh police are currently seeking more details about this case and are verifying whether other FIRs have been lodged against him in the past.
Request for narco or polygraph test
The police have written to the state police headquarters to seek approval for conducting a narcoanalysis or polygraph test on Yadav. Investigations are also ongoing to confirm Yadav’s claim that he studied in the United Kingdom.
During a raid at his flat in Prayagraj, police found several forged documents, a printer, and seals belonging to various institutions, the SP stated.
FIR registered following complaint
An FIR was previously lodged against Yadav on 6 April after Damoh Chief Medical and Health Officer M. K. Jain filed a complaint accusing him of possessing a fake medical degree.
The National Human Rights Commission has also launched an investigation after receiving a complaint related to the deaths of seven patients allegedly treated by Yadav at the Missionary Hospital.
