The illegal clinic, operating without authorization, had charged the family Rs 25,000 for the procedure

Uttar Pradesh: A woman in Barabanki has died after the owner of an illegal clinic and his nephew allegedly performed surgery on her by following a YouTube tutorial, according to the police.
The clinic, which authorities say was functioning without any valid authorisation, has now been sealed.
The victim, Munishra Rawat, the wife of Tehbahadur Rawat, had been suffering from a stone-related ailment. On 5 December, her husband took her to Shri Damodar Aushdhalaya in Kothi. The clinic operator, Gyan Prakash Mishra, allegedly claimed that the abdominal pain was caused by stones and advised surgery.
He had also given an estimated cost of Rs 25,000 for the procedure. Police added that the husband deposited Rs 20,000 before the operation began.
Husband’s allegations
In his complaint, Tehbahadur Rawat alleged that Mishra was intoxicated during the procedure and began the surgery after referring to a YouTube video. He claimed that Mishra made a deep incision in his wife's abdomen and cut multiple veins, which led to her death the following evening on 6 December.
Mishra’s nephew, Vivek Kumar Mishra, assisted in the operation.
According to the police, Vivek Kumar Mishra is employed at an ayurvedic hospital in Raebareli. The illegal clinic was allegedly being run for years under the cover of his government employment.
Authorities have since sealed the establishment.
A case has been filed against both the clinic operator and his nephew for causing death by negligence. Sections under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, have also been invoked. Police said efforts are underway to arrest the accused.
