A mob in Patna, demanding action in the August 15th murder of two children, injured five police officers, including a woman constable, and set two police vehicles ablaze

Bihar: Patna witnessed violent scenes on Monday evening as a mob went on the rampage, demanding action against the culprits in the recent murder of two children. At least five police personnel, including a woman constable, sustained injuries during the incident, according to officials.
The unrest broke out after two children were found dead inside a car in the Indrapuri area of the city on 15 August. Protesters had gathered to press for immediate action in the case.
How did the situation escalate?
Speaking to the media, Patna (Central) SP Diksha said: "The incident took place on Monday evening when a group of locals blocked traffic demanding action against culprits in the murder of two children that took place on August 15. When police reached there, the mob turned violent and started damaging police vehicle. They pelted stones also on police personnel and set two vehicles on fire."
She further noted that the mob even manhandled police officials present at the site, adding: "The mob manhandled police personnel, including me."
Police response and arrests
SP Diksha confirmed that the police used mild force to bring the situation under control. "A total of five police personnel, including a woman constable, sustained minor injuries. Police arrested ten people, including some women, following the incident. More arrests will be made as we are analysing CCTV footages," she said.
Status of the murder investigation
On the investigation into the deaths of the two children, the SP assured that the culprits would be brought to justice soon. "The accused will be nabbed very soon," she stated.
