Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday accused India of orchestrating two deadly attacks, a suicide bombing outside an Islamabad court that killed 12 people on Tuesday, and another assault on a cadet college in Wana, near the Afghan border.

Sharif alleged that “Indian-sponsored terrorist proxies” were behind the twin strikes, describing them as part of a larger plot to destabilise Pakistan. “These attacks are a continuation of India's state-sponsored terrorism aimed at destabilising Pakistan,” he was quoted as saying by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), the state-run news agency.

Referring to the Wana attack, the Prime Minister said, “No condemnation is enough for these attacks being carried out from Afghan soil under Indian patronage.”

However, the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) later claimed responsibility for the Islamabad suicide bombing — the first such attack in the capital in years. The powerful explosion outside the district court complex left glass shattered and vehicles charred, sending panic across the city.

"Judges, lawyers and officials who carried out rulings under Pakistan's un-Islamic laws were targeted," the TTP said in a statement, warning of more attacks “until Islamic law is implemented in the Muslim-majority country.”

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that 12 people were killed and 27 others injured when the bomber detonated explosives near a police vehicle.
