Chhatarpur: A video showing a 70-year-old man being dragged by two individuals at a government hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district has gone viral, leading to a public outrage against the hospital authorities.
The incident happened on April 17 when Uddhav Singh Joshi, a resident of Naugaon town, visited the district hospital for his wife’s medical check-up. In the video, Joshi is seen being forcibly pulled by two men.
Speaking to reporters, Joshi claimed he was assaulted by a doctor after waiting in line for a considerable time. “I remained in the queue for a long time after getting the time slot slip. When my turn came, Dr Rajesh Mishra objected and then slapped and kicked me,” he alleged.
However, the hospital administration has denied the allegation. Civil surgeon Dr G L Ahirwar said the hospital was overcrowded at the time and the altercation began because Joshi tried to bypass the queue. “Dr Mishra objected because Joshi had broken the queue,” he said.
The incident has triggered criticism on social media, with many demanding a thorough inquiry into the matter.
