Kozhikode: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president K Sudhakaran dismissed reports of discord with former Congress leader Mullappally Ramachandran, stating that they are like siblings born to the same mother. He said Mullappally’s presence is crucial in the fight against the Left government and acknowledged that a communication gap had occurred between them, which would now be resolved as they work together.

Sudhakaran made the remarks after holding discussions with Mullappally, also a former KPCC president.

"There was never any issue between us. Mullappally and I are like siblings. We stood together in the Kannur political landscape and moved forward unitedly. There is no personal rift between us," Sudhakaran said.

Mullappally also echoed similar sentiments, stating that his long-standing bond with Sudhakaran remained unaffected.

"My association with Sudhakaran spans decades, and there has been no strain in that relationship. A communication gap had emerged. If I had written to anyone, I would say I wrote it," Mullappally said.

Reports had recently claimed that Mullappally wrote to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge supporting leadership change in KPCC and seeking Sudhakaran’s removal from the top post. The meeting between the two leaders comes in the wake of these reports.
