A 63-year-old man was killed in Mumbai's Kurla area after heavy rains caused a tree to collapse onto a shop, marking the city's second fatal tree fall in a week.

Mumbai: A 63-year-old man lost his life on Sunday when a tree collapsed onto a shop during heavy downpours in Mumbai's Kurla area, marking the city's second fatal tree-fall incident in less than a week, according to civic officials.
The tragic accident took place at around 12.40 pm near the Hindi BMC School in the Naupada locality of Kurla West, authorities stated.
The victim, identified as Yunus Kundawala, was pulled from the wreckage and rushed to Fauzia Hospital. However, medical professionals there declared him brought dead on arrival, an official confirmed.
Emergency teams, including the fire brigade, local police, BEST personnel and civic staff, rushed to the site to execute rescue operations and clear the debris.
This fatality follows closely on the heels of another tragedy on June 30 in Chembur, where an 11-year-old boy was killed and multiple individuals were injured after an uprooted tree crashed onto a moving school bus.
