The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12 noon shortly after convening amid Opposition protests, even as the government lined up key legislation, including the MSME Amendment Bill and the Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, for consideration during the Monsoon Session.

The Monsoon Session of Parliament witnessed a brief and stormy start on Friday as the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12 noon within minutes of assembling, while Opposition leaders staged a protest inside the Parliament premises ahead of the day's proceedings.
The Lok Sabha convened at 11.03 am but was adjourned by 11.04 am. The Rajya Sabha also assembled at 11.03 am and continued with its scheduled business.
Despite the disruption, the Lok Sabha has a packed legislative agenda for the day.
The House is slated to table reports from several parliamentary panels, including the Committee on Estimates, the Committee on the Empowerment of Women, the Committee on the Welfare of Other Backward Classes, the Standing Committee on Labour, Textiles and Skill Development, and the Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare.
Among the key legislative business listed is the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which is scheduled to be taken up for consideration and passage. The proposed legislation is aimed at amending provisions governing the MSME sector.
The House is also expected to consider and pass the Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which seeks to amend various taxation and financial laws.
The day's proceedings are expected to remain politically charged, with the Opposition signalling continued protests even as the government pushes ahead with an ambitious legislative agenda during the ongoing Monsoon Session.
