Mayukh Ranjan Ghosh has confirmed his exit from Republic Bangla but kept the reason under wraps. His cryptic Facebook post, however, has sparked intense speculation over his next move.

'The game has only just begun.' That wasn't just a farewell line, it was the biggest clue Mayukh Ranjan Ghosh chose to leave behind.
The outspoken journalist, known for his high-decibel television debates and unapologetic style, has officially parted ways with Republic Bangla.
However, instead of revealing why he quit, Ghosh left followers with a cryptic message that has only fuelled speculation over what comes next.
Announcing his resignation through a Facebook post on Wednesday, Ghosh confirmed that it was his final day at Republic Bangla. Yet, he deliberately avoided discussing the reason behind his departure.
'Yes, the news is true. Mayukh has left Republic. Today was my last day at Republic Bangla. This is not the day to speak about why or for what reason. Today, I am only making the announcement,' he wrote.
The veteran journalist also hinted that the decision had been in the making for a long time. According to him, he had already made up his mind in 2025, dismissing any suggestion that the exit was sudden or impulsive.
Without disclosing his next destination, Ghosh said only that 'Jagannath knows' and that time would reveal what lies ahead.
He also reflected on his brand of journalism, saying his role was to communicate with the masses, stand for nationalism and Hindutva, and challenge what he described as anti-national narratives.
At the same time, he questioned whether television was the only platform through which people needed to hear him, a remark many interpreted as a hint that his next move may not necessarily be another TV newsroom.
Ghosh also addressed both his supporters and critics. He said he was grateful to those who loved him just as much as to those who rushed to criticise him, calling the constant engagement a measure of his influence.
Ending his post with a challenge to detractors, he wrote, 'Some people think the problem is gone and now they can celebrate. They are mistaken. Wait. Be patient. The game has only just begun.'
While Ghosh has confirmed that his journey at Republic Bangla has ended, the biggest mystery remains unanswered: Why did he quit, and where is he headed next?
