Gudalur: A man was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Devalayam in Karnataka. The deceased was identified as Palaniyandy (84), a native of Devala Hatty. 

The attack happened at around 2 AM on Thursday. The jumbo apparently chased down the octogenarian and killed him. Palaniyandy is survived by his family members.
