Mumbai: In a huge drug bust, Mumbai customs officials arrested a 26-year-old man from Kozhikode in Kerala at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport for smuggling 4.147 kg of hydroponic ganja, valued at ₹4.14 crore in the international market.

The accused, Mohammad Parambu, had arrived from Bangkok and was apprehended based on specific intelligence. During the search, customs officials discovered the contraband concealed in 10 plastic packets hidden between clothes in his trolley bag.

Hydroponic ganja is a premium cannabis strain grown in controlled environments using artificial lighting and refrigeration, making it more potent and expensive than regular marijuana.

Upon interrogation, Mohammad confessed that he was delivering the drugs to K.P Ahmed, a resident of Kasaragod in Kerala for a commission. Acting swiftly, authorities arrested Ahmed as well.
