The Shardiya Navratri, the nine-day festival of devotion, has reached its ninth and final day on Monday, September 30, 2025.

On this auspicious day, devotees honour Maa Siddhidatri, the ninth form of Goddess Durga, revered as the bestower of wisdom, spiritual powers, and ultimate liberation.

Her name combines “Siddhi” (spiritual blessings or supernatural powers) and “Datri” (giver).

True to her name, she is believed to grant all eight siddhis—Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakamya, Ishitva, and Vashitva—helping devotees transcend ego and material attachments to attain inner peace and moksha.

Maa Siddhidatri is depicted seated gracefully on a pink lotus or lion, radiating divine serenity. She is shown with four arms carrying a lotus, mace, discus, and conch, symbolising wisdom, strength, time, and cosmic energy.

According to legend, when the cosmos was without form, Lord Shiva worshipped Adi-Parashakti, who appeared as Maa Siddhidatri. She blessed him with all siddhis, giving rise to Ardhanarishwara—a form uniting masculine and feminine energies.
