Lucknow: A massive fire broke out at Lokbandhu Hospital in Lucknow late Monday night, prompting a swift emergency response and the safe evacuation of over 200 patients. The blaze affected three wards of the hospital, including the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), but no casualties have been reported.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident at 9:44 pm. Chief Fire Officer Mangesh Kumar confirmed that fire teams responded immediately and successfully evacuated all patients from the affected areas. "We received the information at 9:44 pm, and upon receiving the information, our entire team reached the spot. Our team has evacuated everyone safely. The cause of the fire is not yet known," Kumar said.

Patients from the affected wards were relocated to nearby government hospitals, including Civil Hospital, Balrampur Hospital, and King George’s Medical University (KGMU). At Civil Hospital, the trauma centre in-charge, Dr. Vipin Mishra, confirmed the arrival of five patients from Lokbandhu Hospital. "The condition of all the patients is stable. Doctors from all departments are working," he stated.

Dr. Sangeeta Gupta, Director of Lokbandhu Hospital, reassured the public that all patients had been safely evacuated and transferred. "There has been no loss of life. The cause of the fire is not yet known. The situation is fine now," she said.

District Magistrate Visakh G Iyer also confirmed that the fire had been completely extinguished and that no patients remained inside the hospital. He added that the rescue operation had ensured the safe transfer of all individuals to nearby facilities.

Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal echoed the sentiments of relief and control, saying, "The fire is under control. All our patients are safe. They have been shifted to nearby hospitals. The situation is under control."

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak lauded the coordinated response of the hospital staff and emergency services, stating that around 200 patients had been safely moved and no casualties had occurred.
