New Delhi: A wanted shooter linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been arrested by the Delhi Police Crime Branch in coordination with the Rajasthan Police, in a major breakthrough against organised crime and extortion networks operating across states, officials said on Sunday.

The accused, identified as Pardeep Sharma alias Golu (23), a resident of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, was apprehended from Uttam Nagar in West Delhi on January 16. He is wanted in multiple cases involving extortion, firing incidents, and illegal arms supply in Rajasthan.

According to police, members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had demanded ₹4 crore from a businessman in Ganganagar, Rajasthan, in March 2025. When the victim refused to pay, shooter Golu was allegedly assigned to carry out a firing attack at his residence to intimidate him.

In May 2025, Golu and his associates allegedly opened fire at the businessman’s house, following which an FIR was registered at Jawahar Nagar Police Station. Although he was arrested and later released on bail, police said he continued criminal activities and became involved in supplying illegal weapons to gang members.

Police said four members of the gang were later arrested with a large cache of arms and ammunition, and investigations revealed Golu as the source of the illegal weapons, leading to another FIR against him.

In view of the rise in gang crime, shootings, and extortion cases in Delhi and neighbouring states, the Anti-Gangster Squad (AGS) of the Delhi Police Crime Branch intensified surveillance and tracked the accused’s movements.

Acting on specific intelligence, a joint raid was conducted in Uttam Nagar, leading to his arrest. He has since been handed over to the Rajasthan Police for further investigation.

Officials said Golu remained in contact with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and was operating as an active shooter in Rajasthan.
