The suspicious package was intercepted at a foreign post office in Gujarat, which handles international shipments to and from the state, and has since become the subject of a multi-agency probe.

Ahmedabad: An investigation by security agencies has been sparked by a package sent from Australia to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently held in a high-security cell at Sabarmati Central Jail.
The parcel was addressed to Bishnoi and was reportedly sent by a woman named Vandana Gaur, with a listed address in Australia. However, authorities discovered that the address was fake, raising concerns.
Although the package contained only a towel and a shaver, the seemingly harmless items have heightened suspicions among security officials, especially since they were sent from abroad.
Agencies now suspect that the parcel may have been a test to see if foreign deliveries could reach Bishnoi in jail without detection, leading to a broader investigation into the purpose of the delivery.
What has raised concerns is that the sender allegedly paid about Rs 7,000 for international shipping fees, which is a significant amount considering the low value and easy availability of the items. This has fueled suspicions that the shipment might have a hidden agenda beyond what is apparent.
This isn't the first instance of such an attempt; sources indicate that a similar event took place in another state, suggesting a potential pattern. In a related operation, the Rajasthan Police's Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has apprehended Aditya Jain, a prominent member of the Lawrence Bishnoi–Rohit Godara gang, in Dubai.
Jain is accused of functioning as a "control room" for the gang, managing extortion schemes and making threat calls on behalf of the organization.
Bishnoi was born into a prosperous farming family in the village of Dhattaranwali, located in the Ferozepur district of Punjab. He is a member of the Bishnoi community, which is found in Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
In 2010, he relocated to Chandigarh for his studies, enrolling at DAV College. He later served as the president of the Student Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU) from 2011 to 2012, which marked the start of his involvement in organized crime.
