This incident occurs near a previous encounter site where a police officer was killed on December 15th.

Jammu: Security personnel initiated a cordon-and-search mission in a village within Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district following reports that terrorists seized food from a residence prior to fleeing into adjacent woods, authorities disclosed Sunday.
A collaborative effort involving police and paramilitary units targeted Chore Motu village along with surrounding forested hamlets in the Majalta sector, located roughly 5 km west of a prior clash site where an officer lost his life, officials detailed.
They revealed an intelligence alert arrived late Saturday, indicating two unknown terrorists entered Mangtu Ram’s home in Chore Motu around 6:30 pm and demanded provisions.
Authorities swiftly deployed police and paramilitary teams, yet they evaded capture.
Troops sealed off the nearby woodland perimeter and commenced a multi-directional sweep at dawn Sunday aimed at locating and eliminating the suspects, the officials added.
On December 15, terrorists gunned down a policeman during a firefight at Soan village in Majalta after forces learned of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) operatives traversing the region.
The assailants slipped away, exploiting dense vegetation and nightfall, per the officials.
