New Delhi: Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices in India remained unchanged for domestic airlines on Friday, even as global crude oil prices trend higher. State-run oil marketing companies, led by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), held key fuel rates steady to shield consumers and airlines from international price volatility.

The latest fuel price update shows that petrol and diesel prices in India continue to remain unchanged, offering relief to consumers across the country. Domestic LPG cylinder prices, including the widely used 14.2-kg cylinders, have also not been revised.

Petrol, diesel and domestic LPG prices remain unchanged

According to IOC, there has been no change in retail petrol and diesel prices, which together account for nearly 90 per cent of India’s total fuel consumption. The decision helps keep transportation and daily living costs stable despite fluctuations in global crude oil prices.

Similarly, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged for around 33 crore households. Kerosene distributed through the public distribution system (PDS) has also seen no price revision, ensuring continued support for essential fuel needs.

ATF prices for domestic airlines, which are revised on the first of every month, were also kept unchanged this time. Oil companies said the move is aimed at protecting the aviation sector from rising global fuel costs. However, ATF prices for international flights have been increased in line with global benchmarks.

Overall, nearly 80 per cent of petroleum products have recorded no change in prices, highlighting a continued focus on fuel price stability in India.

Commercial LPG cylinder price hike

In contrast, prices in select industrial segments have been revised. ANI reported that the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 993, taking the new rate to Rs 3,071.50 in Delhi. This hike primarily impacts businesses such as hotels, restaurants and small commercial establishments.

Bulk diesel prices and ATF for international airline operations have also been increased, reflecting global market trends. These categories represent a smaller share of overall fuel consumption.

At the same time, around 4 per cent of petroleum products have seen a price decrease, while about 16 per cent, largely industrial fuels, have registered an increase.

Oil companies said the overall pricing strategy reflects a calibrated approach to balance global crude oil price movements while protecting domestic consumers from sudden fuel price hikes.
