The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, has welcomed the announcement of the agreement for the release of hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza. The Indian government hopes that this will lead to a safe and sustained supply of humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.

In its statement, the MEA reiterated its long-standing stance, expressing support for the release of all hostages, a ceasefire, and a return to a path of dialogue and diplomacy.
