Jammmu and Kashmir: Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah created controversy after he accused Indian agencies of being hand in gloves to facilitate the infiltration at the Jammu and kashmir borders.

He said that despite such high security, the infiltration continues and it is clear that the security agencies themselves facilitate infiltration at the border.

Earlier, expressing concern over growing encounters between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah on Sunday questioned the infiltration of terrorists from across the border despite heavy military deployment.

"How have the terrorists, which are around 200-300, come? From where have they come? Someone is responsible who is double-crossing...Who is dying- our Colonel, Major, and soldiers? How is all this happening? The central government should answer the entire nation. Even the Bangladesh border is porous now,"

To this, the Union Territory’s Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain harshly criticised that such a statement by Abdullah is shameful and deplorable.

“The security forces have made numerous sacrifices to safeguard the people of Jammu and Kashmir and in fact the entire country” he said.

“The security forces, the paramilitary forces, the army and the police have lost as many as 7000 lives and continue to lose. They’re the most patriotic sections of the country,” he added.

Recent months have seen a rise in terror attacks in Jammu, including an assault on an army convoy in Kathua and skirmishes in Doda and Udhampur.

On Saturday, two Army soldiers lost their lives in an encounter.
