New Delhi: As Delhi gears up to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced special metro service timings on October 19 and 20, 2025, to accommodate increased passenger flow during the festivities.

On the eve of Diwali, Sunday, October 19, metro train services on the Pink, Magenta, and Grey Lines will start one hour earlier than usual, commencing at 6:00 AM instead of the regular 7:00 AM. This early start aims to cater to the early morning rush and enhance commuter convenience in the national capital.

On Diwali day itself, Monday, October 20, the last metro train from all terminal stations, including the Airport Express Line, will start its journey at 10:00 PM, an hour earlier than the normal schedule. However, the metro services will operate as usual throughout the day, starting from routine timings on all lines.

This special scheduling by DMRC reflects proactive planning to ensure smooth and safe travel during one of India’s busiest and most significant festivals. With anticipated high passenger volumes, especially on the Pink, Magenta, and Grey Lines, the adjustments facilitate better crowd management and timely services.

Additionally, the Delhi Fire Service has enhanced its readiness by deploying extra water tenders and quick response vehicles at strategic points throughout the city during the Diwali period to address any emergencies promptly.
