Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the closure of entry and exit services at 17 Metro stations from Friday morning, July 24, until further notice amid security arrangements linked to the ongoing CJP-led protest in the national capital.
New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the temporary closure of entry and exit facilities at 17 Metro stations across central Delhi from 7:30 am on Friday, July 24, until further instructions. The move comes amid heightened security arrangements in the national capital due to the ongoing CJP-led protest movement.
The DMRC issued a service update informing commuters about the restrictions and advised passengers to plan their travel accordingly. While passengers will not be able to enter or exit the affected stations, interchange facilities will continue at selected stations, including Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat.

The stations affected by the order include several important locations near government offices, major roads and administrative areas. These include Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Barakhambha Road, Supreme Court, Janpath, Central Secretariat, ITO and Indraprastha.

The decision follows increased security deployment in Delhi amid the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, including the NEET paper leak controversy. The agitation intensified after clashes broke out during the group’s march towards Parliament, leading to increased police presence and additional security measures in sensitive areas.
Authorities have been monitoring the situation closely and have taken several precautionary steps to prevent any disruption to public order. Security arrangements have been strengthened around protest areas, while restrictions have been introduced in locations considered sensitive.
