Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued a travel advisory announcing temporary changes in metro operations, including revised Blue Line timings and partial station closures at Madhuban Chowk.

Blue Line timings adjusted for maintenance

DMRC said train services on the Blue Line — connecting Dwarka Sector 21 to Noida Electronic City/Vaishali — will be briefly regulated in the early hours of May 3 due to scheduled maintenance work between Supreme Court and Indraprastha stations.

Passengers travelling early Sunday morning have been advised to plan for additional travel time as first train timings from select stations will see minor changes.

Madhuban Chowk station sees temporary closures

At Madhuban Chowk Metro Station (formerly Pitampura), key access points have been shut from May 1 to May 15 due to ongoing infrastructure work.

Gate No. 2 and Lift No. 3 — located on the R-Cube Mall side — will remain closed for around 15 days. These are expected to reopen by May 16, subject to construction progress.

To minimise inconvenience, commuters have been redirected to use other operational access points, including Gate Nos. 1, 3, and 4, along with Lift No. 4.

DMRC has deployed additional staff and signage to guide passengers through the changes.

The temporary closure is part of the final stages of Phase 4 expansion, involving construction of a double-decker foot overbridge to improve connectivity between the Red Line and the Magenta Line.

Since the extension of the Magenta Line earlier this year, Madhuban Chowk has become a key interchange point, with heavy commuter movement requiring better infrastructure.

What commuters should expect

Passengers may experience slightly longer walking distances and increased crowding at operational gates, especially during peak hours.

DMRC has advised commuters to stay updated through official channels and plan journeys accordingly to avoid delays.
