New Delhi: Delhi International Airport issued a passenger advisory on Friday warning of potential delays to flight arrivals due to shifting wind patterns in the vicinity of the airport.

The advisory, shared on social media at 9:26 am, stated that air traffic flow management measures would be implemented from 12:30 IST to 16:30 IST to ensure the safe handling of arrivals. The measures are being taken in line with international and regulatory protocols, with passenger safety cited as the highest priority.

While flight arrivals may be affected during the specified window, airport authorities confirmed that all other operations, including those across terminals and all three runways, would continue as normal.

“Due to shifting wind pattern in the vicinity of the airport, certain airline operations may experience delays,” the advisory read. “Passengers are advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines for the latest updates on flight schedules.”

The airport authority expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and thanked passengers for their understanding.

The alert follows a weather advisory from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), which forecasts significant winds across Delhi throughout the day. The IMD also predicted thunderstorms with lightning and strong surface winds on April 19, accompanied by very light to light rainfall. Strong winds are expected to persist into April 20 during daylight hours.
