Mumbai: In a creative move to spread public awareness and railway safety, Western Railway has teamed up with Chhota Bheem, the much-loved character from an Indian animated adventure series, for a year-long campaign.

Western Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Vineet Abhishek, told ANI, “Chhota Bheem is a 100 per cent Indian character that entertains and educates kids... We also try to reach our passengers for their safety or other things. When the Prime Minister praised the cartoon character in Mann Ki Baat, we thought of collaboration between Chhota Bheem and Western Railways and intensifying the reach among passengers.”

Reaching adults through children

Abhishek added, “Usually our passengers are adults, but we have noticed that by reaching kids through Chhota Bheem, we can reach passengers as well... If the kids convey our messages, they will understand better. This is why we have established a letter of collaboration.”

The idea is simple: if children learn about safety and share these messages at home, it could make a stronger impact on families as a whole.

Chhota Bheem to feature everywhere

According to a press release from the CPRO, Western Railway will move beyond traditional methods to connect with the public.

Characters like Chhota Bheem and his friends will appear across different platforms – including print, digital, television, radio, and even on posters and at school events. This campaign will run for one year.

The collaboration aims to tap into Chhota Bheem’s massive popularity among children and families to spread important messages about railway safety and good behaviour at stations.

Familiar faces for a serious message

The global fame of Chhota Bheem is seen as a positive influence on young minds. Western Railway hopes that by using these familiar characters in their public campaigns, they can better engage passengers and build stronger awareness around safety.
