Ahmedabad: In the aftermath of the fatal stabbing of a Class 10 student by a junior at a private school in Ahmedabad, police have obtained chat messages between the accused and a friend that reveal a confession and details surrounding the incident.
The accused admitted to the act in the conversation, confirming to his friend, “Yes,” when asked if he had stabbed someone. Later, he instructed his friend to tell others, “Tell him I killed him.” According to the messages, the accused stated that the attack was prompted by the victim questioning him about his identity and intentions.
The friend in the chat cautioned the accused against resorting to deadly violence, but the accused responded with, “Whatever happened has happened now.” The chat also showed that the accused was asked to delete the conversation and considered going underground.
The stabbing incident took place on August 19, 2025, at the Seventh Day Adventist School in Ahmedabad’s Khokhra area. As per preliminary reports, a Class 8 student stabbed a Class 10 senior near the school gate during an altercation, using a sharp physics lab tool. The victim was immediately taken for medical treatment but died later that night from his injuries.
Following the incident, protests erupted at the school as parents, students, and community members demanded accountability. Police have registered a murder case and have arrested the accused minor.
The investigation continues as authorities examine the circumstances and underlying factors related to the assault.
