Aurangabad/Hajipur (Bihar): BJP president J P Nadda on Thursday described the Bihar assembly elections as a battle between the NDA’s vision of 'Vikaas' (development) and the 'Vinaash' (destruction) represented by the INDIA bloc.

Speaking at a rally in Aurangabad, Nadda sharply criticised the Congress party, labeling it a “parasitic party that finishes off its junior alliance partners”.

He further took aim at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), led by Lalu Prasad, accusing the party of embodying 'Rangdari' (extortion), 'Jungle raj' (lawlessness) and 'Dadagiri' (bullying).

Referring to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s promises of employment generation and controlling migration, Nadda dismissed these as hollow, recalling allegations of the party’s involvement in a land-for-jobs scam.

He questioned the feasibility of RJD’s pledge to provide a government job to every family in Bihar, challenging, “from where would funds be generated to pay the salaries?”

Nadda also condemned the RJD’s decision to nominate Osama Shahab, son of the late gangster-turned-politician Md Shahabuddin, in the upcoming elections, arguing it demonstrated the party’s disregard for the state's security.

"The RJD has fielded Shahabuddin's son... how can it ensure the security of the people of Bihar if it fields such candidates? Lalu's RJD stands for Rangdari, Jungleraj and Dadagiri," he stated. Shahab is contesting from the Raghunathpur constituency in Siwan district.

Praising Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Nadda credited him with eliminating ‘jungleraj’ in Bihar over the past two decades.

“In this election, the fight is between 'Vikaas' and 'Vinaash',” Nadda emphasised.

He urged voters to remember the days of ‘jungle raj’ during Lalu’s rule, which forced many Biharis to migrate. “Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, people of Bihar are witnessing growth. The state is continuously moving towards development,” he added.

Highlighting recent achievements, Nadda noted the Centre’s nearly tenfold increase in Bihar’s rail budget and pointed out that 26 of the 44 newly launched Vande Bharat trains serve Bihar. In addition, 12,000 special trains have been arranged to manage Chhath festival travel demand.

At another rally in Patepur, Vaishali district, Nadda outlined further development plans including the construction of 10 airports and initiatives like the Makhana Board and Youth Commission aimed at boosting farmers’ income and youth empowerment.

He intensified his criticism of the RJD by recalling that kidnapping had become rampant during their tenure, alleging ransom amounts were decided at the then CM’s official residence.

“People are well aware of the fact that the ransom amount in cases of abduction was finalised at the official residence of the then CM,” he claimed.

Nadda urged young voters to inquire about the realities of 'jungle raj' and 'goonda raj' before voting.

Turning to Congress, he said the party’s leaders showed no concern for Bihar’s progress, highlighting comments from Telangana CM Revanth Reddy that insulted Bihar’s people.

“Congress leaders cannot think of betterment of the people of Bihar,” Nadda concluded.
