While the injured are receiving medical treatment, Devanahalli traffic police have registered a case and are investigating whether speeding or mechanical failure caused the crash.

Bengaluru: A collision between a truck and a transport vehicle on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Sunday left three women dead and eight others injured, according to local authorities.
The accident occurred on National Highway 648 near Rani Cross, a segment connecting Hoskote and Dabaspet. Police reported that a "lorry collided with a TT vehicle" as the latter attempted to transition from the main highway onto a service road. The force of the impact completely crushed a section of the passenger vehicle.
Victims Identified
Authorities identified the deceased as Jayamma, 60; Yashodamma, 60; and Ganga, 38. All three women were residents of Tiptur in the Tumakuru district.
Among the eight injured was Kempamma, who "sustained serious injuries and has been shifted to a hospital in Bengaluru for advanced treatment." The remaining injured passengers, including the driver of the transport vehicle, are currently being treated at a private medical facility in Devanahalli.
Traffic and Investigation
The wreckage caused a major temporary traffic jam on the busy highway. Devanahalli traffic police arrived at the scene shortly after the crash to conduct an inspection and oversee the transfer of the deceased to a local mortuary.
A formal case has been registered at the Devanahalli Traffic Police Station. While a preliminary report suggests the truck struck the smaller vehicle during a lane change, officials stated that a "further investigation is underway" to determine if mechanical failure or speeding contributed to the tragedy.
