New Delhi: Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is leaving his residence at 6 Flagstaff Road in North Delhi's Civil Lines area on Friday. He has lived in this house since 2015, following his election as Chief Minister of Delhi.

Kejriwal, the National Convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is relocating with his family, including his elderly parents, to a bungalow near the party’s headquarters. This new home was officially allotted to AAP's Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, Ashok Mittal.

“Kejriwal will move into 5, Ferozeshah Road residence of AAP MP from Punjab Ashok Mittal on Friday,” AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj told reporters at a press conference earlier.

After Kejriwal announced his decision to leave 6 Flagstaff Road, many party leaders, including MPs, MLAs, and councillors, offered their homes for him to use. In a show of solidarity, even ordinary citizens reached out, offering their houses regardless of their political or socio-economic status.

Kejriwal first became Chief Minister in 2013, initially living at Tilak Lane. He moved to 6 Flagstaff Road in 2015 after winning the Assembly elections.

While settling into his new home in New Delhi, which is also his Assembly constituency, Kejriwal will be busy overseeing the AAP's campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections in Delhi and other states.

In related news, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has moved with his family from the AB-17 bungalow on Mathura Road, which was previously assigned to him. He has now relocated to a bungalow on Rajendra Prasad Road, which is the official residence of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh.

This change follows Sisodia’s arrest in the excise policy case in March 2023, after which his previous residence was reassigned to Atishi, the current Chief Minister of Delhi.
