New Delhi: The eighth edition of the biennial joint military exercise Ajeya Warrior between the Indian Army and the British Army will be held from November 17 to 30 at the Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in Rajasthan, the Ministry of Defence said on Sunday.

The exercise aims to enhance operational coordination in joint counter-terrorism operations in a semi-urban environment under Chapter VII of the United Nations mandate, the Additional Directorate General of Public Information (Army) said in a statement.

“The 14-day exercise reflects the shared commitment of India and the UK towards global peace and security, while further deepening defence cooperation, camaraderie, and mutual trust between both armies,” the ministry said.

The exercise follows a series of major Indian Army operational drills conducted across different regions. On Saturday, the Eastern Command carried out Exercise Poorvi Prachand Prahar to validate new capabilities in coordination with the Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, and other agencies.

According to the Army, the integrated exercise featured cutting-edge battlefield technologies, including night-enabled FPVs, swarm drones, unmanned aerial systems, and networked targeting supported by attack helicopters and composite batteries for coordinated precision strikes.

Meanwhile, the Southern Command reviewed Exercise Trishul at Madhavpur Beach along the western seaboard, which showcased large-scale multi-domain manoeuvres involving land, air, and maritime forces across the desert, Rann, and creek sectors.

Southern Army Commander Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, along with Vice Adm Krishna Swaminathan and Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, assessed amphibious landing operations from onboard INS Jalashwa and witnessed the launch of infantry and tanks via mechanised landing craft during the beaching phase, officials said.
