Ahmedabad: An Army nursing assistant delivered a baby inside a flooded home in Ahmedabad’s Matoda village and then carried the mother and newborn through nearly two kilometres of neck-deep floodwater to reach a critical care ambulance, according to an account shared by the Indian Army’s Southern Command.
Naik Nursing Assistant Ram Lakhan Kumar responded to a distress call after an expectant mother in advanced labour became trapped inside her home as floodwaters rose around the village.
