AISATS acted immediately after a molestation incident at Bengaluru airport, terminating the employee and supporting the victim

Bengaluru: Following the molestation of a foreign national at Kempegowda International Airport, AISATS moved swiftly, terminating the employee involved and initiating a full inquiry to prevent future incidents.
AISATS, the airport services provider at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, has issued a strong response after an employee allegedly molested a foreign national at Terminal 2 on January 19.

In its official statement, AISATS described the incident as “unpardonable” and confirmed that the employee involved was immediately terminated and handed over to authorities for legal action. The company expressed regret over the emotional distress caused to the victim and stated that all necessary support has been extended to her.

“A comprehensive inquiry is underway to strengthen safeguards and prevent any recurrence. AISATS is fully cooperating with the authorities and remains committed to the highest standards of ethics, safety, and compliance,” the statement added.
Police confirmed that the accused, 25-year-old Mohammed Affan Ahamed, a contractual employee of a private airline, was arrested. The alleged molestation took place during a purported security check while the woman, a South Korean national, was completing immigration procedures before departing for her country.
Authorities have assured the public that the case is under thorough investigation and emphasised the commitment of both AISATS and airport security to passenger safety. The swift action by AISATS underscores the operator’s zero-tolerance approach toward misconduct and its focus on maintaining secure, ethical, and professional airport operations.
