Air India is all set to operate new five times weekly direct flights connecting Bengaluru with London Gatwick. Bengaluru is the airline’s fifth destination from London Gatwick, joining existing routes to Goa, Kochi, Ahmedabad, and Amritsar. These five weekly flights will increase the total count of Air India’s flights to and from London Gatwick to 17 a week.

These Air India flights, alongside TUI’s service to Goa, means there are now 19 flights per week between London Gatwick and India.

London Gatwick is actively working to double connectivity with India over the next five years, recognising the strong economic and cultural links between the countries. Key priority destinations for future growth include Delhi and Mumbai.

With this route, Bengaluru becomes the first Indian city to have direct connections to two of the largest airports in the UK, Heathrow and Gatwick.
The airline plans to use its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on the route, featuring 18 flat beds in Business class and 238 seats in Economy.

This new direct route was planned months ago realising the rising importance of Bengaluru as a tech hub and eyeing growing passenger demand. Calling this route excellent news for both passengers and business across London, Stephanie Wear, VP of Aviation Development, London Gatwick said: “This city’s dynamic tech industry and cultural significance make it a fantastic addition to our route network. It’s set to be a popular service, providing fantastic opportunities for both tourism and trade.”
