NCP-I leader Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar has approached Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, alleging that she and her family are being subjected to ‘abusive language’ on social media.

She has handed over a list of names of people whom she alleges have been trolling and abusing her.

According to Dastidar, the Chief Minister has assured her that appropriate action will be taken against those responsible.

She met Adhikari on Wednesday and personally handed him the names of those she described as people who had been ‘indecently abusing’ her.

She later shared details of the meeting in a social media post.

In the post, she wrote, ‘Today, I gave the names of those who are using indecent and abusive language against me and my family through posts on Facebook and Twitter from the IT cell to Hon’ble Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. He has assured me that appropriate punishment will be given.’

It remains to be seen what action the Chief Minister will take following Kakoli’s complaint and whether the police will begin an investigation on his instructions.

Dastidar has been facing social media trolling for a long time

For quite some time, social media has not been a favourable space for NCP-I leader Kakoli. Her posts have frequently attracted ‘Haha’ reactions, while she has also faced trolling in the comments section.

Amid the situation, Dastidar has now taken up the matter directly with the Chief Minister. She handed Adhikari the names of those whom she alleges have abused her online.

When did the trouble begin?

The Trinamool Congress suffered a major setback in the 2026 Assembly elections. Party supremo Mamata Banerjee also lost her seat.

Following the election defeat, Dastidar began distancing herself from the party.

Under her leadership, nearly 20 MPs reportedly rebelled against the Trinamool Congress and decided to extend direct support to the NDA.

In this backdrop, Dastidar and the rebel MPs joined a party called NCP-I.

The party is now supporting the NDA, and its members have already been seen attending several NDA meetings.

Following these developments, several people on social media have directly targeted Kakoli. Her posts are frequently flooded with ‘Haha’ reactions, while she has also alleged that many users are using abusive language in the comments section.

Dastidar has now approached Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari over the issue. It remains to be seen what action will be taken following her complaint.
