Imphal, Manipur: ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan on Sunday highlighted the critical role of satellite technology in safeguarding India's strategic interests, revealing that at least ten satellites are operating round-the-clock to ensure national security.

Speaking at the 5th Convocation ceremony of the Central Agricultural University (CAU) in Imphal, Narayanan emphasised the importance of space-based surveillance, particularly in light of regional security concerns. “You all know about our neighbours. To ensure the safety of our country, we must rely on our satellites,” he said.

He further noted the necessity of monitoring India’s 7,000-kilometre coastline and the northern borders continuously, stating that such efforts would be impossible without satellite and drone technology.
