Sonu Sood has travelled to flood-hit Nepal with relief supplies and pledged continued support for victims who have lost homes and loved ones

As Nepal continues to deal with the devastating aftermath of the flash floods that struck the country on August 26, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has travelled to the affected region to stand with those who have lost their homes and loved ones.
The actor shared glimpses of his visit on social media, posting pictures with people affected by the disaster. Alongside the photos, Sonu promised to help communities rebuild and work towards a fresh start.
“They lost their homes, their families, their childhood…but together, we will help them find a new beginning. Nepal, you are not alone,” he wrote on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media during his visit, Sonu said the immediate priority was to understand what the victims needed and ensure relief reached them.
“We are here to meet the victims of the flood. We got lots of stuff from India. We just want to be with the people who are in need and will try to bring their lives back (on track), I think it's everyone's duty to do their part,” he said.
The actor said his team had brought blankets and food supplies from India, while also trying to identify other requirements on the ground.
“We have a lot of blankets and food materials. We are still asking them what they need; we try to send it from India. Sending from India to Nepal is always a little challenge because we need a lot of people,” Sonu added.
He also stressed that the relief effort should not be limited to the immediate aftermath of the disaster. “But we will make sure that not only this month but also in the coming months, the relief keeps coming,” he said.
Fans call Sonu Sood a ‘real life hero’
Sonu's visit and relief efforts received praise from fans online, with many applauding the actor for personally standing alongside people affected by the floods.
One social media user wrote, “All Bollywood one side & You are one and only One side salute u sir.”
“Respect to your incredible work of compassion!” read another comment.
“Messiah is on duty,” another fan wrote, while someone else called him a “REEL” and “REAL life hero”.
Manisha Koirala, Sunita Ahuja urge support for Nepal
Sonu is not the only Bollywood personality to speak up about the situation in Nepal. Actor Manisha Koirala has appealed to the international community to come together and extend help to the country following the devastating flash floods.
Govinda's wife and reality star Sunita Ahuja also urged Bollywood to support those affected, referring to Nepal as her “Matrabhoomi”.
Nepal floods: Death toll and rescue efforts
The scale of the disaster has left Nepal facing a major humanitarian crisis. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), 939 people have died, while 3,925 remain missing, including 592 foreign nationals.
Rescue and recovery operations are continuing across several districts, including Rasuwa and Nuwakot. The Indian Embassy in Nepal has also issued information regarding the process for identifying the mortal remains of Indian citizens who lost their lives in the floods.
As rescue teams continue their work, relief efforts from individuals and organisations are also focusing on providing food, shelter and other essentials to communities struggling to recover from the disaster.
