Narora (Uttar Pradesh): A man has been arrested for reportedly beating his 12-year-old daughter to death over accusations of stealing a packet of candy from a local shop.
Police identified the accused as Pushpendra alias Pappu Sharma, a resident of Ratanpur village. The arrest was made on Sunday following a complaint filed by the victim’s mother, Aarti, on March 27.
According to police officials, the incident came to light after a shopkeeper informed Pushpendra that his daughter had allegedly taken a packet of candy without paying. Enraged by the accusation, the father allegedly assaulted the child with a stick in a fit of anger, leading to her death.
Based on the complaint, authorities registered a First Information Report (FIR) at the Narora police station and launched an investigation. The accused was subsequently taken into custody.
